    1. Aims: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

    - Read the passage about some celebrations in the world to understand the details.
    - Know more information about some celebrations in the world.
    b. Skills
    Practice and improve all skills.
    c. Behavior
    Love learning the subject
    2. Preparation:
    a. Teacher: Text book; Teaching plan; ex - board; tape; cassette.
    b. Students: Text book; notebook; school things; do homework; prepare well for new lesson.
    3. Procedure
    *Organization
    T: greet and check the attendance.
    Sts: reply.

    a. Check the old lesson (2’)
    T: check Sts` preparation for the lesson.
    Sts: get ready.
    * Warm up (7’)
    * Brainstorming:
    T: ask Sts to tell the names of some celebrations all over the world that they know.

    Sts: think of the answers for the topic.
    T: call on some Sts to give out their answers in front of the class, give feedback.
    * Possible answers:
    - May Day/ Valentine Day/ Teacher’s Day/ Woman’s Day/ Christmas Day.....
    T: ask Sts to look at the icons on page 65 - TB and match them with the suitable names of the celebrations that they present.
         
    Sts: work individually to do the task then compare the answers in pairs.
    T: call on some Sts to give out their answers in front of the class, give feedback and correct mistakes if necessary.

    ? What do people often do on this festival?
    ? Do you know any other celebrations in the world?
    Sts: think of the answers for the questions of the teacher.
    T: call on some Sts to give out their ideas in front of the class, give feedback and elicit some new words.

    Although there are many celebrations throughout the year, Tet or Lunar New Year holiday is the most important celebration for Vietnamese people.Tet is a festival which occurs in late January or early February.It is a time for families to clean and decorate their homes, and enjoy special food such as sticky rice cakes.Family members who live apart try to be together at Tet.
    Passover is in late March or early April.This festival is celebrated in Israel and by all Jewish people.On this festival, people celebrate freedom from slavery.Passover is also an ancient spring festival.On the first and second nights of Passover, Jewish families eat a special meal called the Seder.
    Easter is a joyful festival which is celebrated in many countries.It happens at around the same time as Passover.On Easter Day (Easter Sunday), young children receive chocolate or sugar eggs - as long as they are good.In many countries, people crowd the streets to watch colorful parades.
    T: ask Sts to find out the sentences which contain “Who” and “Which” in the passage.
    Sts: do the task.
    ( T: Write the sentences on the board:
    - Tet is a festival which occurs in late January or early February.
    - Family members who live apart try to be together at Tet.
    - Easter is a joyful festival which is celebrated in many countries.
    Sts: look at the sentences.
    ( T: elicit the function of “Who” and “which” in the sentences.
    - “Which” replaces for “Tet” or “Easter
