There once was a beetle, that lost all its spots.
It's mother was angry. It's father was not.
"The spots of a beetle, are a part of its shell."
"They cannot scrub off."
"Perhaps they just fell?"
"Backtrack!" said the father,
"each step of the way, you have taken since waking, the whole of this day."
So back through the garden the whole family trekked, but found not a sign where the spots went.
Till they came to the wall freshly painted a hue of beetle-brown colour which each of them knew.
"Lost your spots?" laughed his mother,
"I think not, my son."
"I came here to play," the young beetle said,
"then a rain spot fell on me, so I went home instead".
"A rain-spot? A paint-spot," his father replied.
"You are painted all over, front back and side."
"But my spots?" cried young beetle.
"Are not lost at all just covered in paint from the new garden wall."
There once was a beetle, that lost every spot.
Not! They were just covered up, by a random paint spot!
